• The biographical note on a column by Richard Coles described him as a “former Church of England clergyman”. Though he no longer has a parish, he remains a C of E clergyman (Perfect practice – the words that changed it all, 2 August, Journal, p5).
• A clue in “The most Guardian crossword ever” (26 July, Puzzles summer special, p15) asked for the “Problematic author father of Sophie (5)”. This should have said grandfather, not father.
• Mary Gaitskill’s Substack blog, Out of it, is not free, as an article said. It became a subscription service in June (Top of the stack, 12 July, Saturday magazine, p44).
