Editorial Policy
Business Street is committed to the highest standards of journalistic integrity, accuracy, and transparency. This Editorial Policy outlines the principles and practices that guide every piece of content we publish.
Our Core Editorial Principles
1. Independence
Business Street’s editorial decisions are made independently of commercial, political, or personal interests. Advertisers, sponsors, and business partners have no influence over our editorial content. Our coverage is based solely on newsworthiness, accuracy, and public interest.
2. Accuracy and Verification
We verify factual claims before publication using primary sources, official data, peer-reviewed research, and expert commentary. When information cannot be independently verified, we say so clearly. We prefer accuracy over speed — we will not publish an unverified claim simply to be first.
3. Fairness and Balance
When covering contested topics, we present multiple credible perspectives. We do not ignore inconvenient facts or silence dissenting voices. Where there is genuine expert disagreement, we represent that disagreement honestly.
4. Transparency
We identify the sources of our information wherever possible. When anonymous sources are used, we explain why anonymity was granted and how we verified the information. We disclose conflicts of interest and relationships that could affect our coverage.
5. Corrections and Accountability
We acknowledge and correct errors promptly. Corrections are noted clearly within the original article. We do not silently alter published content in ways that misrepresent what was originally reported. Significant changes to published articles are dated and explained.
Distinguishing News from Opinion
Business Street clearly distinguishes between news reporting and opinion or analysis. Opinion pieces and commentary are labeled as such. The views expressed in opinion columns are those of the author and do not necessarily represent the views of Business Street editorial staff.
Artificial Intelligence in Our Workflow
Business Street may use AI-assisted tools to support research, translation, or initial drafting. However, all published content is reviewed, verified, and edited by human editors who are responsible for accuracy and editorial judgment. We do not publish AI-generated text without human review and accountability.
Advertising and Sponsored Content
Business Street displays advertising, including programmatic ads from Google AdSense. Advertising relationships have no influence on editorial content. We do not publish sponsored articles or “native advertising” without clear, prominent labeling. Any content produced in partnership with a commercial entity will be clearly identified as a paid partnership.
Conflicts of Interest
Our editors and contributors are expected to disclose any financial interests, professional relationships, or personal connections that could influence their coverage of a topic. When a conflict of interest exists, the relevant editor will recuse themselves from coverage of that topic, or the conflict will be disclosed within the article.
